Deleted Scene: Desire's Sympathy

It was night-time in the jungle. All was sleeping except two kids that were wandering

through the jungle, lost. Both of them felt like throttling the other. Things seemed ordinary;

the two of them were bickering mildly, but one of them snapped. "SHUT UP!" roared

Mowgli, "JUST SHUT UP!" Desire was completely taken aback. She had pushed Mowgli

over the edge. "I am sick and tired of you whining and complaining about being in the

jungle!" He stopped, to worn out to continue. "Let's just stop for the night." Desire

opened her mouth to say something, but the glare in Mowgli's eye told her close it. They

both lay on the ground, trying to succumb to sleep. Mowgli was far from Desire, not

wanting to talk. Desire's fear turned to anger. Who was Mowgli to yell at her like that!?

She watched him sleeping on the ground. He was shivering. It was a windy night. Desire

was wrapped up in the blanket she had in her bag. She actually had two, but was

debating whether or not to give it to the boy. She decided to give it to him, but only

because she took pity on him. And it just seemed like the right thing to do. She walked

over to the sleeping kid. In a swift move, she threw the blanket over him. She had

planned to leave after that, but she took time to tuck it around him. Looking over him

now, her mouth curved upward, but she quickly moved it back down. She then crept

over to her space and fell asleep. A few feet away from her, Mowgli smiled.
