A/N: A PMMM flash bingo drabble, prompt 135: Tatsuya/Kyubey.

The house was still, dark in the midnight moonlight, all inhabitants wrapped in pleasant dreams and peaceful sleep. All except one, anyway.

Small feet padded across the short space in the hallway, bleary eyes searching in a sleepy and sleepless daze, swaying with each step. Arriving at the intended destination, fumbling hands latched on and, with some effort, swung the door open, fully expecting to see a bedroom full of stuffed animals with a young girl sleeping inside.

Instead, there was only office space, a spare room barely used, the habitation only imagined. Dull, confused eyes looked around, wondering, hands rising to rub at his eyes and confirm this. Still, no matter how many times he rubbed his tired eyes and looked about, clutching his blue blanket, the scene didn't change.

His attention was then drawn to the other, unexpected occupant of the room. Rapidly blinking orbs met still red on an expressionless face, managing to convey surprise despite it's inability to actually experience the emotion.

"Kitty," cried the young boy, face lighting up with happiness at seeing the white haired, red ringed, long eared cat-bunny.

Reality reasserted itself and Kyubey bolted for the shadows, but he was too late as the toddler charged forward and grabbed him in an iron hold.

Please release me Tatsuya Kaname, Kyubey said as he squirmed and spun, tails flicking and ears flipping as he tried to escape, to no avail. He wasn't even sure if Tatsuya could hear him. I was in the process of experimenting on distortions in reality, which should not be left unattended.

All he got was another happy cry, shifting into a chant of "Kit-ty! Kit-ty!-Kit-ty!" He was tossed along as Tatsuya returned to his room with a triumphant march.

I am curious how you're even able to interact with me. You have no magical potential that I can detect, so the odds of this exchange happening are infinitesimally small, Kyubey commented as he swung about and they entered Tatsuya's room.

The toddler beelined for the bed, crawling on with both his blanket and Kyubey, resting on his side and snuggling up to the magical creature as he closed his eyes, gave a content sigh, and beamed a warm smile as he drifted back to sleep.

Stuck, Kyubey evaluated his options. He could continue his eventually successful attempts to escape, or he could wait, since Tatsuya would let go eventually. No one else could see him, and the experiments to determine if 'Madoka Kaname' was real would still be viable in the future. It would be an easier course to wait.

Very well, Kyubey said to himself, shifting so his tails flopped up, resting comfortably in Tatsuya's embrace, and closing his eyes, settling in for the long haul with indifference. But if one listened very carefully, they might be able to hear a soft purr of enjoyment past the light breathing of the toddler and his acquired pet together for the night.
