Gajeel x Levy Oneshot
Gajeel and the Levystalk
It was a normal day at the Fairy Tail guild hall. Natsu and Gray were having their daily battle, Erza was slowly getting up to stop them, and Gajeel was sitting in his usual corner.
The Slayer sighed to himself. Why of all days did Lily have to get sick? Poor him, stuck at a vet. But still, Gajeel was bored. And lonely. If only something would happen!
Suddenly, Jet and Droy burst through the guild's doors, yelling their heads off.
"Help!"
"Someone!"
"Levy! She got taken by giants!"
That last one got Gajeel's attention. So, Shrimp got kidnapped, eh?
"Show me where she was," grunted the Dragon Slayer, walking towards Levy's "body guards."
Now, Jet and Droy would rather have anyone, and I mean anyone other than Gajeel helping them, but poor Levy was trapped, so they had no choice. Gajeel was the only one who heard over the entire guild's ruckus.
So, the trio went down the winding path, leading to a giant plant.
"What is this?" grunted Gajeel, "And why is it here?"
"Well you see," started Droy, "Levy said we needed to start training, so I tried to make a giant Levystalk, a rare plant, to impre- I mean, to train..."
"Then," said the Speed Mage, "Giants, who are attracted to Levystalk, jumped out at us and took Levy up the stalk to the top!"
Gajeel silently looked up the stalk and, with one swift slam of Iron poles into the ground, sent himself flying up the stalk, occasionally hitting a leaf or branch to increase speed.
Finally, the Slayer reached the top. In front of him, three of red, blue, and yellow sat around a campfire, a small stick dangling a certain blue headed Solid Script Mage over the flames.
Gajeel silently cursed as he assessed the situation. If he attacked the giants one at a time, they might just eat Levy raw. Gajeel knew that he couldn't take on all three… or could he?
One of the giants, the red one, suddenly stuck his nose in the air, sniffing.
Gajeel realized what the giant was doing as a great big smile crossed the red monster's face.
"Fee Fi Fo Fayer- I smell an Iron Dragon Slayer!" yelled the beast, turning around, searching for Gajeel.
Well, he found Gajeel- or at least part of him. As he turned towards the bushes where the slayer was hiding, Gajeel sent a metal pole flying, sending it straight through his chest. The monster looked down on his red chest to see it turning a much darker shade of red.
"Red!" yelled his buddies, one of them tossing aside Levy while the two stood up.
Gajeel quickly dodged the weapons then thrown at him. Spears, knives, arrows, bones, swords, axes, shields, Levy… Wait, Levy?
Gajeel quickly looked back to see the bookworm herself fly past the edge of the cloud and down towards the earth.
"Shrimp!" He yelled, jumping off the cloud to save her. He quickly caught up and nabbed the Shrimp seconds before impact. He quickly pointed his feet downwards and took the impact of the fall. Then, after placing the currently quite shocked Levy down, turned to the plant and, with one swoop, cut the vine in half. The giants, who had been climbing down at the time, fell down with the plant, instantly being killed on impact.
"You know, Levy, it isn't the fall that kills you," said Gajeel.
"It…isn't?" asked a very confused bookworm, who knew that a fall like that could kill you, "Then what does?"
"It's the sudden stop," replied the Pierced Dragon as he scooped up the poor hurt Levy-much to the alarm of her team- and carried her all the way back to Fairy Tail.
