Hikaru frowned as she walked out onto the stage in a blue dress with matching heels. She had agreed to be part of the fundraiser for the sake of the WBBA but the idea seemed stupid to her. Who would pay for a date with a girl? Plus she wasn't a piece of property to be bought.
"Next we have my personal assistant Hikaru Hasama"Ryo said. The crowd cheered much to her surprise as she stood next to Ryo.
When the girl walked out Chao Xin smiled and look over at his friend who was reading a book clearly not interested.
"Come on Bao why don't you bid on her she's pretty and she looks like you're type"Chao Xin said nudging his friend.
"How do you know my type"Bao asked.
"She looks like she doesn't wanna be here that's one thing in common right"Chao Xin said smiling at his friend.
"Why would I waste my money on something as stupid as a date"Bao asked.
"Act as tough as you want I know you're just a lonely little guy"Chao Xin said.
"Who are you calling little"Bao growled. Chao Xin smiled knowing Bao hated being called short.
"Well if you won't bid I will she looks fun"Bao rolled his eyes knowing Chao Xin's idea of fun probably wasn't the innocent kind.
"Let's start the bidding at 50$"Ryo declared. Many people bid on her including Chao Xin and it was up to 250$ which was higher than Hikaru expected.
"500 dollars"Chao Xin yelled as if daring the other men to bid again. Hikaru gasped when she heard how much he was bidding.
"500 to Chao Xin going once…..twice…..sold for 500 $"Ryo yelled. After the auction was over Chao Xin came backstage to claim his "prize" followed by Bao.
"Ok now since you won you will get to spend the whole day with Hikaru"Ryo said.
"Actually the date isn't for me it's for Bao"Chao Xin said.
"Huh"Hikaru and Bao both said.
"That's fine with me"Ryo said.
"Can I talk to you alone"Bao asked Chao Xin. Before he could even answer Bao roughly dragged Chao Xin by the arm.
"What the hell are you doing"Bao asked when they were far enough away.
"Getting you a date"Chao Xin said as if it were obvious.
"I don't want a date"Bao growled.
"Well you can't tell her that now and besides it's for a good cause"Chao Xin said.
"Fine i'll do it but not because I want to"Bao said storming off. As soon as the director let her go Hikaru ran off to tell Madoka.
"What's wrong with you"Madoka asked.
"Someone bought a date with me from the auction"Hikaru said.
"And the bad part is"Madoka asked not understanding her friends situation.
"Well it's a date with Bao"Hikaru said.
"Bao bid on you I didn't know he had a thing for you"Madoka said shocked.
"Bao didn't bid on me Chao Xin did but he said it was for Bao"Hikaru said.
"Aw was he too shy to bid on his own"Madoka asked smiling. Hikaru rolled her eyes at how weird Madoka was making this. Out of the two of them Madoka had always been the romantic one.
"No that's not it he seemed just as shocked as me"Hikaru said.
"Well whether it's him or Chao Xin you have a date tomorrow"Madoka said with a huge smile on her face.
"I know"Hikaru said frowning.
The next day….
Hikaru put on the dress and heels she was supposed to wear and waited anxiously. She jumped a little when she heard the doorbell ring. She answered it and saw Bao in his usual clothing.
"Here"Bao said handing her a rose.
"Um thanks"Hikaru said blushing just as red as the rose. They both awkwardly stood there for a second not knowing what to do.
"So where are we going"Hikaru finally asked.
"I think Chao Xin made some reservations at this nice restaurant"Bao said. Hikaru was shocked when he seemed annoyed but she followed him anyway. When they were walking she was knocked down by a kid who ran by.
"You ok"Bao asked.
"Yeah"Hikaru said getting up and dusting herself off. Then Bao saw a book lying on the ground.
"You dropped this"Bao said picking up her book. When he was handing it back to her he got a good look at the title.
"Thanks"she said taking the book back.
"You like mystery books"he asked shocked.
"Ever since I was a kid"she said.
"Me to"he said pulling out a book identical to hers.
"Who do you think did it"Hikaru asked.
"The niece it would give her the perfect opportunity to get all that money"Bao said.
"No way it was the maid she is too nice"Hikaru said.
"Oh yeah if you're so sure about that let's have dinner at my place and we can finish the book and find out i'm right"Bao said.
"Oh you're on" she said. Once they were at his house he ordered a pizza and sat on a chair to read while she sat on the couch. As she read she messed with her heels and dress which were annoying her.
"Do you want some more comfortable clothes"Bao asked.
"If you don't mind"Hikaru said. He handed her a t-shirt and some sweatpants and once she was changed the pizza was there. While they ate Hikaru decided to ask Bao how they ended up on this date.
"What was the deal with Chao Xin bidding on me anyway if you were the one who wanted the date"Hikaru asked.
"I didn't want this date"Bao said.
"Ouch"Hikaru said as she ate her pizza. Bao realized how bad that sounded and felt bad.
"I didn't mean it like that I just meant it was stupid to pay for a date if you wanna go on a date you should just ask them"Bao said.
"Really I thought the same thing"Hikaru said.
"Then why participate"Bao asked raising an eyebrow. He obviously thought she was lying so Hikaru decided to clear things up.
"I only did this to help the WBBA raise money. I do so much for that job apparently even stuff like this"she said. He just nodded seeming to believe her now. Once they were done Hikaru sat on the couch while Bao sat on a chair as they read. They read for awhile before the lights went out.
"Shit"Bao mumbled fumbling around looking for a flashlight.
"Bao what's going on"Hikaru asked.
"Chao Xin's dumb ass must have forgot to pay the electricity bill"Bao growled. Hikaru couldn't help but laugh as they sat in the dark.
"Follow me"Bao said.
"Where are you"Hikaru asked feeling around. She reached out to him and felt something soft.
"Bao is that you"she whispered.
"My lips"he said causing her to quickly pull away. This time she grabbed onto his jacket and followed him into another room. Eventually he lit some candles and found a flashlight. The candles slightly illuminated the room and Hikaru realized they were in a bedroom.
"If I didn't know any better I would say you're trying to seduce me"Hikaru said laughing.
"Tease me all you want it just means i'll finish the book first"Bao said sitting on the bed to read.
"No fair I don't have a flashlight"she said sitting next to him and trying to see his book.
"Only have one sorry"he said not sounding even slightly sorry.
"Then share"she said scooting close to him so she could read his book to. He tensed up for a second at their closeness before he went back to reading.
Later Chao Xin came back with a girl on his arm and they noticed the darkness except for Bao's room. He went in there and saw Hikaru with her head on Bao's shoulder asleep with candles around them. He just laughed and made a mental note to bug them about it in the morning.
