Well, I have WAY too little time on a teenager's summer schedule to make another story, but hey! SAO was WAY too good to pass up. And I hafta write while the subject is fresh in my head, so I need to write now. Stupid plot bunnies won't stop looking at me until I put them to paper. Or I guess FanFiction... Anyways, point is, I wrote a story. #Obviousfactisobvious

In this story, I kind of have to do some explaining, and I debated on doing it in A/N or before the story, but then I realized: This is a POV from my FFN alterego, so let's have HER explain it!

Zelda - I thiiiiink they're all confused.

Yeah, probably. Why don't you take it from here? You have better social skills.

Zelda - Okay. Hello there, fanfiction, I am Zeldakid's fanfiction alter ego, Zelda (real creative name there, too). I was created from fanfiction magic -

How that happened is unkown -

Zelda - Thank you ZK - and I basically am the person who watches the events of her fanfictions and relays the information to her. I've been on trips as of late, so we've been slow on updating. Plus, I have to look in the land of Hyrule for fanfictions on her friends' accounts too. Just think of me as ZK's more active, dimension-crossing alter ego who is definitely more awesome than the original.

So you DO acknowledge you're a clone!

Zelda - I am NOT a clone! But let's not argue. People need to know the events of this particular Fanfiction. Since I look at the events of ZK's fanfictions for her, I've seen SAO (essentially, because she and I share memories) and we both thought that it would be cool if she could get into the story, take Kirito's love life, and generally be awesome. And then we realized -

Zelda can bend time and space, so couldn't she essentially just become an SAO player and do the things listed above? And THAT'S why this is a POV story from my fanfiction counterpart. I'm sad I can't participate in this myself, but you know. Zelda's one-quarter computer code, one-quarter immortal awesome being, and one half human.

Zelda - And the secret of my origin is revealed! ...Wait, you stored my data on your LAPTOP?

Who cares, right? This bold is probably old by now (old bold, puns), so let's switch to normal font and get the ball rolling - or, should I say, get time and space warped. Enjoy!

Zelda - See you later! I guess... You're reading this from my eyes, soooo...

Chapter 001 - Beta tests, Beta testers, and Boys

All right, I have to remember you can all essentially read my thoughts, so always stay on track. Stupid ZK, why do you have ADHD?

Anyways, yeah, I'm allowed to break the fourth wall at will. After all, I exist on the other side of it. The year is 2022, which means I successfully breached timespace.

[Achievement get - Bent the laws of Spacetime!]

Shut up, ZK!

[Achievement get - You figured out who will be annoying you for the rest of the story!]

Uggggggggghhhhhh-

Anyway, let's skip to the part AFTER I learn Japanese (through amazing brain capacity, and online language forums), convert ZK's life savings into yen, and buy Nerve Gear, then rent an apartment in place of my "mother" who I don't actually have. Since I'll be stuck in a game for two years (hopefully less with my influence), it doesn't really matter what the apartment looks like, besides two rooms and a billion electrical outlets. Wow, there's a lot.

[Achievement get - seen more than 50 outlets!]

SHUT UP, ZELDAKID! I disabled telepathy.

[Achievement ge...

There, now let's get to the beta! ...Come now, I want to meet Kirito BEFORE the actual release, and it would be creepy to go to Kazuto's house. So, beta.

I put the Nerve Gear on my head. The visor makes it hard to see, and suddenly the world darkens. Text appears on the inside of the visor (ma-an, the technology here is AMAZE) saying (in Japanese because I'm in Japan) 'Before using the Nerve Gear, you must make an account. Make an account?'

My fingers felt a keyboard under my fingers, so I typed 'Yes' and I think I'll skip the part where I touch my body in preparation for when Akihiko traps us all in the game and copies our body structure, and make an account because it's actually pretty boring. Finally, I left behind my body and came to the senses check screen. (FYI... you don't need to say 'Link Start' first time using NG, but you do after making an account because it's voice controlled.) After checking my senses, and showing the classic "Welcome to Sword Art Online Beta!" screen, I appeared in a small circular room that was all dark except the screen in front of me. It was the character creation screen. Since I knew we'd be shown as ourselves later on, I chose the option 'Generate real-life avatar.' It was hidden away in a corner of the screen, so I couldn't immediately locate it. Probably why no one else would choose it.

I opened my eyes to see the familiar plaza shown constantly in episode 1. It looked a lot better, though, without black lines around everything, and in 3D. I could see about 20 other players around the plaza, the ones most excited to beta. Searching the crowd, I spotted a pre-built avatar with black hair and preset blue armor - Kirito's. Now I just had to find a way to bump into him..

Well, I'll wait a minute for that. First, I need to buy some better armor. This stuff is way too heavy, even for starter armor. A breastplate and other random pieces like Asuna would be better.

I glanced at my avatar's - and the real me's - face in a mirror at a shop as I ran to the armory down the street. Elbow-length glossy brown hair (glossy? It's anime, what do you expect?), with my bangs swept to the right, hazel eyes, slightly tan complexion. All in all, quite pretty. I can almost see ZK facepalming right now...

I reached the armory and bought some new armor. It was a little similar to Sugu's armor in ALO with some SAO attributes: a silver breastplate, with a green coat underneath with a tight collar and long sleeves and extending down my back but open in front. Black shorts and a short black undershirt made up the rest of the outfit, leaving my stomach exposed, but whatever, it's the best armor I can get with my pre-made hacked-in col. There was also a black leather belt that went around the coat, held up by a silver set of belt loops. My waist thus felt a little heavy, but I could live with it. Gold lining edged every side of the green coat. The plain leather boots were short and only went to mid-lower leg. Just for the heck of it, I also bought a hair clip that just sort of sits in your hair and doesn't do anything (not even hold your bangs in place), made of a metal the same color as my coat, and edged on the left with gold, in the shape of three leaves.

I left the armory and looked around for a weapons shop that sells one-handed swords. I'm not trying to rip off Kirito, but I prefer one-handed swords to katanas and rapiers, one of which has weird handling and the other too light and bent on speed. Plus, they have moderate weight and are the easiest to handle. I noticed a lot of girls around, but based on the way they were constructed, were all boys dressing up as girls. I think you all know what I mean.

I finally found a weapon shop selling one-handed swords, and bought one. It was white, double-edged, and the blade was not decorated at all. The hilt was pretty much all black except a ring of gold around the big red gem on the cross guard and the red pointy pommel. The cross guard looked like sharply shaped wings, and the entire sword had a slight bright sheen to it. The NPC said that it was called Moon-and-Star blade, AKA Moonstar. I liked it and bought it, using up my remaining col.

As I equipped the sword and turned around to go back to the street, I thought about how to get Kirito to find out about my existence and become my friend. Luckily for me, the answer bumped into me. Literally.

Zelda - And that's a wrap, I think I'd prefer to leave it there.

Come on, Zel. You know that was hilarious (bursts into fits of tearful laughter)

Zelda - Shut up. Anyways, this whole thing might seem selfish to some of you, like all we want to do is steal Kirito's love life. But we actually have a nicer, selfless goal and that is just an awesome side to the dish. We want to fix Kirito.

I dunno about you guys, but we loved the anime.. and hated Kirito. He was basically an emotionless Beater who you COULD count as a human, but I think Digibro can sum this up better than me, so go watch Sword Art Online - an Analytical Diatribe. At least, the first ten minutes.

Zelda - We decided to fix Kirito and his messed up mental state up by our own influence, because if you want to get it done, you have to do it yourself. And also, these chapters will be a little short at first but get better as we go. This is Zelda -

And ZK -

Both: See you next time ZK: On this crazily messed up and confusing story involving my fanfiction counterpart who's part computer!

Zelda - ZK!

[Achievement get - ZK hacked through the disabler!]
