Well, I've officially joined the Twilight craze... I couldn't help it! I have a slight crush on Jackson Rathbone, and my roommates made me watch the saga... It was something! I really liked that his character was a Texan. (Texans rule!)

The Volturi had taken her. They'd killed her and forced him to watch. All because of something she saw that she wasn't supposed to. No one was supposed to know they were getting rid of Aro and his wife. They were then forced to stop and take action, removing the source of any possible rumors.

"Jazz, you can't keep sulking like this! You need to hunt, we've had to leave Renesmee with Charlie for over a month!" Bella pleaded, putting a hand on his shoulder. He looked up at her through wisps of blond hair as she sat beside him on the tree. His eyes were extremely blackened by now.

"You don't understand! She was my only reason for living!" Jasper growled, jumping down. He landed square on his feet before taking off. Jasper sniffed at the air. There was a grizzly about a mile off, a herd of elk towards the stream, a vampire by the herd, and a mountain lion towards the herd.

"Wait, vampire? The scent... I don't recognize the scent..." he muttered, running towards the stream to defend his coven.

He stopped at a tree just beyond the stream, watching her. Her hair was a dark blonde like Rosalie's, though hers was longer and flowed into a braid that reached her waist. What caught him off-guard was her eyes. A brilliant shade of lilac. He smelt the air again, picking up a scent that reminded him more of Renesmee than a vampire. She was eying the herd carefully before she pounced, catching a young cow by surprise before she snapped its neck. She was a hybrid, and she hunted like the cat that was about to strike him. Wait, him?!

"Bwah!" he screamed, falling out of the tree as the mountain lion lunged. It too fell, and he threw it off, baring his teeth at the beast as it headed towards him again.

The hybrid smiled, holding her hand out in front off her as an indication to stop. The cat seemed to bow to her as it turned head and ran.

"Sir, she did not leave a mark, did she?" the hybrid questioned, a joking smirk on her face.

"You control the animals?" he questioned her, looking at the cow on her lap as she sat on her knees in the dirt.

"Speak, not control," she replied, looking him in the eye. "You're hungry; I can settle for humans' food." She stood, lifting the elk into her arms and slowly starting towards him.

"I cannot take your meal from you," he protested as she neared him.

"Afraid you'll attack me instead?" she asked him, a small smile on her face. "Not too easy, skin's hard as granite." She jokingly knocked her fist on her other arm, smiling and laughing a bit. "Of course, the teeth would get me, but I can try fending you off."

"Thank you," he replied, quirking an eyebrow at the girl.

"Name's Diana, yours?" She sat by the tree he'd fallen from, staying out of his sights and testing him. He was smart enough to face her, though.

"Jasper Hale, ma'am, pleasure to meet you." He flashed a small smile for about two seconds before sinking his teeth hungrily into the cow.

Diana smiled at him, getting up slowly and heading through the gap in the trees towards the humans.

"Have fun with her. If you need me, sniff me out." She was walking slowly, her ripped up jeans showing more tears than was normal as she left the area.

Jasper knew he shouldn't have been letting his meal go to waste, but his feeding stopped short as she walked away and he looked up at her, blood dripping from his mouth. Why did she help him?

"Because it was the right thing to do." Now there were voices in his head. Maybe Alice's death really did hit him hard...

Diana looked back over her shoulder at her new found acquaintance. He seemed slightly confused by something. She knew what.

"Mental connections, Hale. I speak."
