Snowy Shopping Trip
By Chibinaoka
Touya walked out of the store door, a multitude of bags in hand and let out a soft sigh. Why oh why he had decided to leave his Christmas shopping to the last minute was beyond him. He made sure he had a firm grip on his bags and started to tread down the busy sidewalk. Touya had only been walking for a short while when the street lights lit up and he looked up to gaze at them absently.
"I didn't think it was this late..." He mumbled to himself as he pulled the zipper up on his coat. The weather had gotten quite chilly these days, and with the sun having set simply moments ago, the cold of winter was starting to be felt by all. "All that's missing is snow..." Touya thought as he turned the corner to find himself face to face with Yukito.
"Touya!" Yukito exclaimed with his usual smile, a smile Touya had noted would always brighten in his presence.
"Hello, Yuki-kun. Don't tell me you did like me and left all your Christmas shopping till the last minute?"
Yukito looked at Touya's bag filled hands and laughed softly.
"Oh no no! I was just hungry and decided to fight off the crowds for my favorite snack. Care to join me?" Yukito asked with a little smile. Touya smiled softly as he nodded and the two where off to Yukito's favorite department store.
"I take it you're done your Christmas shopping then?" Yukito asked, glancing at Touya's hand filled bags. Touya grinned.
"Yup! I even have your present right here too."
"Oh Touya-kun, you didn't have to get me anything."
Yukito said timidly to which Touya proceeded to shrug before messing up his friend's hair a little as he patted his head.
"I know but you're important to me."
Yukito smiled and gently batted away Touya's hand from his hair.
"Hey! Touya don't do that!"
Yukito giggled a little but then he suddenly grew quiet when he realized that when he had gently batted away Touya's hand, he had brushed his own against it gently, their fingers meeting and almost intertwining. Yukito's already rosie cheeks from the cold suddenly became slightly rosier with a hint of blush. Touya said nothing to his friend's reaction and simply smiled as he let his fingers intertwine with Yukito's, holding them for a moment."I told you, you're important to me..." Touya's voice was soft, a tone he often only took with Yukito. The two gazed at each other for a moment in silence, before Yukito's head perked up a little as he felt something cold and wet on his cheek.
"Snow..." Yukito mumbled and the two looked up at the sky with a smile. Big, white fluffy snowflakes where slowly starting to poor down from the sky. The two stood in silence once again, moving a little closer to each other, fingers still intertwined as the snow softly fell around them. "Come on, let's go get that snack of yours." Touya eventually said and Yukito nodded, his already cheerful demeanor growing even more so with the usual excitement he had when it came to his favorites snacks and sweets.
Yukito guided Touya along down the suddenly whitened streets, fingers still intertwined, the heat from one another keeping their hands warm in one of the first snow falls of the season.
