Henry hadn't had to sacrifice much for his relationship with Ruki. They met at the park, walked home from school, went out to the movies in a group with their other friends, and when they got a spare moment, they would do couple type stuff. There was no real pressure on either of them. So when Henry asked if Ruki would come over to meet his parents after school, she had frowned, then smiled and then said yes.

So as he waited outside of her hoity-toity all-girls schools, watching all the other plaid-skirted girls walk by and almost missed his girlfriend, he was surprised by Ruki's own sacrifice.

There was no silver hoops running up the side of her ear, no stud in her nose and he was sure she had even taken out her belly button ring that only he knew about. She was wearing the ACTUAL school uniform, not the modified one of big heavy boots and Misfit's t-shirt worn specifically to spite all the prim, rich girls that Ruki hated so much. Her bag was stripped of all the offensive pins and her face, usually laden down with eyeliner and lipstick and powder was scrubbed clean, her cheeks the faintest tint of creamy peach.

Henry couldn't help but grin and plant a kiss right on her nose as she planted herself in front of him.

"I didn't want to scare your mom. I kinda want this to last." Ruki returned the infectious grin with a quick peck on the lips and grabbed Henry's hand, intertwining her fingers with his as they started off towards his house.

"You didn't have to censure yourself, I already showed her a picture of you."

"What! I did all this work for nothing?"

"No… I happen to think you look damn cute."
