Unlikely

A/N: ANOTHER STORY? Haha. I know I just posted a oneshot, but I just couldn't resist writing some fluff. Review! :)
Brownies are not supposed to look like that, Caitlyn Gellar thought to herself.
She sighed as she started to wash out her now charcoal tasting brownies when her doorbell rang.
Groaning, she walked over and opened the door.
"Miss Gellar," Shane Gray said as he walked through the door, "why does your house smell like something caught on fire?"
"Because something did. My brownies." Caitlyn pouted. Did he really need to remind her?
Shane smirked. "Why were you cooking?"
"For Nate and Mitchie's Christmas party. I thought I would try and do something nice for them."
"Then why would you cook?"
Caitlyn shot a dirty look at him. "Your commentary isn't needed."
"Your life would be no fun if I didn't." He grinned widely.
"I beg to differ. It would be much more pleasant."
Shane walked into the kitchen, and witnessed the disaster. The smoke alarm was broken(most likely because Caitlyn threw something at it), brownie mix was spilled on the counter, and a cooking dish filled with a black substance was sitting in the sink.
"You call those brownies? They look more like coffee grinds!"
Caitlyn sighed. "I know. How hard is it to mess up boxed brownies?"
"Well," Shane put an arm around her shoulders, "it happens to everybody. It just happens to you a lot."
"Not true!" She retorted.
"Caity, think about it. There was the Thanksgiving turkey incident, the baked potato fiasco, the lasagna catastrophe. Oh, and let's not forget how you managed to burn French fries. That one I'll never understand."
"I forgot about them."
"You would think one would learn after so many tragedies."
Caitlyn punched his shoulder hard, causing him to wince in pain. "Yeah," she replied, "you would think."
Shane scowled. "All I'm saying is maybe next time, you should think about making fruit salad."
"Jerk." She replied, getting herself a glass of water.
Shane laughed. "Sheesh, I'm only teasing." He paused for a second and then started to rummage through her fridge. "So, you're going to the party tonight?"
"Yeah. Aren't you?"
"Well," he said, before biting into apple he had taken out, "I was going to, but I don't have a date."
Caitlyn arched an eyebrow. "Well, neither do I, but I'm still going. Mitchie's my best friend, and Nate is yours."
Shane's face lit up suddenly, as if he had a great idea. "I have an idea. Why don't you be my date?"
She almost choked on the water she was drinking. "What?!"
"You know, like we go together. Have a good time, and then regret it in the morning."
"Hm," she said, "that sounds…tolerable."
Shane smiled smugly. "I know. It's brilliant."
Before Caitlyn could reply, Shane was headed towards the door. "See you there. Eight o'clock."
"There will be so many people there. Where do you want to meet?"
Shane leaned over to whisper in her ear. "I'll be under the mistletoe."
A/N: So, I actually liked this one! :) Haha. I would really love to know what you guys think! Please review!
Thanks!
