Eventide
Twilight Rewritten
There were three things I was absolutely sure of: Elise is a vampire, Julia is a werewolf, and my life is messed up. To be quite honest, it's still hard to get past the fact that vampires and werewolves even exist much less the fact that I just might like one. Supernatural romances typically don't end well.
It all began when my dad, Officer Phillip Hensley, finally won custody rights for me from my neglectful mother, Evelyn. Although my mother had taken me away when I was eleven, it took five years in court for my father to win the case that he was by far a better caregiver than the woman who gave birth to me.
As cruel as this might sound, it was the best news I had received in a long time. Not that my mother abused me. Far from it, she barely paid me much attention. In fact, Evelyn rarely had the tension span to keep a job for more than a week. Most of her time was devoted to her current live-in boyfriend or the soaps she would watch.
I would always retreat to my room to find solace in my books. It was easy to let myself be swept away into the fantastical realms of literature. All the characters I encountered seamed more real to me than the world I knew. Maybe that makes me a "Book Worm" or an "Escapist", but I didn't care.
