Star's Story
Chapter one
Today is the reaping for the 73rd Hunger Games and I start to get ready in my home, in district 2, where I live with my adopted younger sister, Clove, who is 14. I tie my long blonde hair into a bun, my fringe covering my turquoise eyes. People always say that I look like I should be from district 1 or 6 and that could be true as I was found by Clove's father on the 56th Hunger Games Victory Tour when I was just a baby. Today is my year to volunteer and as I slip on my long sleeved, turquoise dress. I walk over to where the reaping is being held and my blood is checked before I go to the area where the 17 year olds are and look over to my best friend James. I had my name in 5 times but I was volunteering. I hear a name being called and I raise my hand. 'I volunteer as tribute,' I walk to stage and the boy tribute is called and an 18 year old volunteers. I go to say my goodbyes and Clove came to me and hugged me tight. 'Star, you can win I know it,' She told me. 'I might,' I replied. She nodded and I left for the train and went to my room after grabbing a knife and locked myself in the bathroom and I slowly pulled the knife across my skin. Tears welled in my eyes and I heard Enobaria call me and I pulled down my sleeves and left the bathroom.
