Vlad was standing outside Stokely castle. Two years. Two years he'd been away from Stokely, but he just had to take one last look. He thought of Robin, his best mate. He thought of Chloe, her beautiful blonde hair and her blue eyes, and how brave she was. But when she avoided him, he remembered feeling heartbroken.
"You came back."
The voice was calm, cool, but Vlad would recognize it from miles away. He turned to see Chloe Branagh, two years older. She was slightly taller, not much shorter than him, but her blonde hair and blue eyes made her recognizable. Vlad felt like he had butterflies in his stomach as she moved closer, and he saw her face had a few glistening tears.
"I'm sorry." He said. He went to go, but Chloe grabbed his arm.
"Don't go. Please." She whispered, and that was honestly all Vlad needed as an excuse; because Chloe asked him to stay, and he loved her so much that he would do just that for her.
She made the move. She threw her arms round his neck and hugged him tightly. He hugged her back, closing his eyes against her blonde hair.
"Don't leave me again, Dracula." She said, her voice strong and hard, but he knew she was still happy he was back. "You scared me."
"I'm so sorry, Chloe. I won't." he said.
And Chloe pulled back, her arms still round his neck. And her next words made his stomach flip over. "I love you, Vlad."
"I love you too."
She smiled widely, pressed her lips to his. Now, Vlad thought as he kissed her back, I have a reason to stay, and I'm never going to leave that reason ever again.
