Author's notes: So me and one of my friends were talking the other day and I was like 'Meredith! Think of a FanFic title!' and a few minutes later she's like 'The Awakening!' so here is the story: The Awakening based off the season two episode 'Personal.'

I do NOT own NCIS LA or any of the characters or anything else that I might mention that's copyrighted, and I do NOT make any money from writing these FanFictions.

Hetty had just told the team that Deeks had been shot.

Dark haired, hazel/dark brown eyed special agent Kensi Blye wanted to cry, but she had to keep it together in front of the team. "Hetty, I already lost one partner; can I go to the hospital and stay with Deeks?" Kensi asks.

"Yes you may, but… ah he is still in surgery."

"I don't care; I want to be there for him."

"Go miss. Blye."

"Thank you Hetty" said Kensi walking away.

At the hospital.

They had given Kensi his badge and ID when she came in, so she stood in the hallway with them clutched over her heart, rubbing her fingers back and forth over them.

A few minutes later the doors opened and Kensi rushed to the doctor and said "will he be alright doctor?"

"He has a 99.99% chance of being perfectly fine, the bullets hit at exactly the right spot and caused minimal damage, and were small caliber."

"Thank you doctor" said Kensi as she walked to Deeks' bedside and held his hand saying so that only he could hear (if he were awake) "come on Deeks please be ok."

The next day.

Kensi is sitting in Deeks' room waiting for him to wake up.

A few minutes later he starts to stir, once he was fully awake Kensi says "Deeks, I have something to tell you."

"Shoot."

"Ironic."

"Haha."

"Deeks… Deeks when Hetty told us you had been shot I was so worried but it also gave me this awakening; it made me realize that if you have something to say, say it before it's too late, and Deeks I have something to tell you…."

"Well what is it?"

"Marty I love you."

"I love you too Kensi" said Deeks as Kensi leaned down and gently kissed Deeks.

End A/N: So thats it, not much, but... R&R please.
