Watching
She was the most wonderful thing he had ever seen. Perhaps not the most beautiful, for Aphrodite and Hera were immeasurably so, and everyday, spirits of transparent loveliness made their way through his kingdom. But to her none of them could compare, for she was full of life. None of them laughed and sang as she did, and none of them made flowers spring up where they danced. The earth itself sang as she graced it with her presence, and even he felt his heart grow light. He did not resent being given this Underworld, for it was large and splendid and rich in jewels and ore, but he was lonely. If he had a companion, if he had her, his kingdom would be brighter than Olympus, and everything would be more beautiful.
He would have her.
I would like to thank amphritie for beta-ing this for me. And I don't own the Greek Pantheon.
