AN: I know, strange for me to post something just a few days after my last oneshot. But while I was working on 'Tear the World Down', part of me began to wonder what would have happened if Anakin's visions are really that much more than in the movies, but with him still being, well, erhm... typically him. Keeping everyone at arms-length and all that. AKA being bloody stupid. -and eventually falling because of it-. Force knows he has trust issues.
It's very short, it's very vague , and it's quite probably not all that good. Ah well, I'm here to learn. We can't all be perfect.
Disclaimer: I do not own Star Wars, if I did Jar Jar would have died before his first line, GRUESOMELY.
But then again, it also wouldn't be half as good as it is now. So, even though I loathe to admit it, it's a rather fair exchange.
Behind Unseen Masks
In a way, no one understands him
To the people he is their golden hero
The Jedi think him rash, unable to think things through
To Palpatine, he is an oblivious tool, the means to a sinister end
Yes, he knows far more than he lets on. He sees but he denies.
Because if he were to accept it, he would be driven mad
He is commonly known as Anakin Skywalker, the Chosen One, the Hero-Without-Fear
He is also the knight that wakes bathing in sweat, of visions what could become
The one who dreams of despair, of rage, of pain, of fire, of darkness, of betrayal
The hero that is steadily losing his way
Because even though he swears to himself he will never become like that
Every time, every night Obi-Wan leaves him to burn
The Anakin that fights it dies a little more
The time will come, that one morning, he just stops caring,
the moment he will let those flames of hatred engulf him
The day that Vader will be all that is left
