Commodore Norrington,
I write to inform you that Will and I shall be prolonging our stay in England by two weeks. We have secured passage aboard the Mary Jane for the appropriate departure time. The Mary Jane is a new merchant ship captained by one Captain R. S. Tyler. She has made two Atlantic crossings but this is to be her first time in the Caribbean. She expects to make Port Royal by the 20th of November.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Turner

Dearest Father,
I write to inform you and Commodore Norrington (to whom I have sent another notice) that Will and I are prolonging our stay by two weeks.
Uncle Solomon's father, Lord Jacob Dennison, has passed away. We met him on our second day in England and during the brief time we new him, became excellently acquainted with him. He and Will had much in common. Graciously, his family has invited us to attend the funeral, this being the reason for the extra time.
Aunt Allison sends you her greetings and congratulates you on marrying me off to "…such a delightfully polite and proper young man, blacksmith or not." Those are her exact words.

Love,
Your Bethy
