You see a pair of glowing red eyes in the doorway. A cold, steel hand closes around your throat making it hard to breathe. You grab at the hand but there's nothing there. You try to scream. But you need to breathe to scream. You realize that you're trapped. The eyes are still there, staring at you, waiting for you to try and make a move. You stare into those glowing red eyes. The world around them seems to disappear. Suddenly you are not in your bed anymore. You're falling. Down, down, down. Down into an endless abyss. Or not. You hit the ground with force enough to make every part of your body ache but nothing more. You slowly stand up as you wait for your eyes to adjust to the blackness that surrounds you. After a few terrifying seconds you realize that your eyes aren't going to adjust so you start walking around blindly. The room is silent other than your breathing and the blood rushing in your ears. You hear footsteps coming toward you then stop. You look over your shoulder to see the red eyes. You walk toward them but you never seem to get closer. No matter how much you walk they are always the same distance away. You start running. You run until your lungs burn and your legs give out under you. You look up. The eyes are gone. You pass out. When you wake up your in a dark room, on a metal table. There is a candle next to you on the floor. You try to get up but your arms and legs are cuffed to the table. 'Drip. Drip. Drip.' That's the only sound you hear. You can't even hear your own breathing or heartbeat. You stare at the candle for a moment. The room looks strange now, neon and spinning. You close your eyes tightly. Ever so slowly, you open your eyes. The dripping has stopped. Your eyes dart around rapidly. You see the eyes again. But they look different. The owner of these eyes seems to be glaring at you. You wonder why. That steel hand is back, tighter than ever before. You can't breathe. You grab at your throat and choke. Your body demands air but your airways won't listen to you. The world starts spinning again. You hold your head in your hands. Suddenly an ice cold hand forces you to lift your head. You are staring directly into those same glowing red eyes. The light of the candle grows. It grows so bright that you have to shut your eyes. When you open them again you see the red eyes. The room is lit. You can see the owner of the eyes. It's you. A cold lump grows in your throat and you start choking. Your eyes water and your lungs burn with the need for air. The world grows dim then eventually black. The last thing you see is the red-eyed version of yourself smirk before you drift off in an endless sleep.
