Kurt and Blaine stood in Rachel's apartment - the view overlooking New York city next to them. It was the perfect place to do it. They glanced out at the city and sighed in content, the lights twinkling and contrasting perfectly against the dark night sky. They heard a distant sound of the countdown beginning and quickly turned back to face one another.

"Five," Kurt whispered, smiling as he took a step forwards and laced his arms around Blaine's neck. He twirled the loose strands of Blaine's curls at the nape of his neck around his fingers, causing the other boy to shiver in anticipation.

"Four," Blaine grinned, resting their foreheads against one another and nuzzling their noses together. He moved his hands to rest on his boyfriend's hips, tugging him closer towards him, the grin turning into a sly smirk.

"Three," Kurt grinned and ran his fingers through the back of Blaine's hair, tousling it and giggling as it stood up in all different directions. Blaine hadn't worn that much gel tonight - Kurt having to blackmail him into it, though.

"Two," Blaine chimed in, scrunching up his nose as he felt Kurt's fingers running through his curls. Kurt knew just how much Blaine hated his curls, but he always insisted he wear minimal amounts of gel on special occasions, and Blaine hated that Kurt had such a power over him. Blaine had tried to sneak a little more of the gel but Kurt had snatched it away from him, running around their apartment until they both collapsed back on their bed, out of breath and giggling. Kurt had then chuckled the gel to the floor - much to Blaine's dismay, and climbed on top of his boyfriend, straddling his hips and leaning down to kiss him.

Needless to say, they turned up a good deal later than they'd planned to, Rachel glaring at the pair until she noticed the newly forming hickey on Blaine's neck.

"One," They both chimed in unison, leaning forwards and pressing their lips against one another's.

Kurt smiled into the kiss, the feeling of how their lips slid together perfectly making his heart flutter in his chest and his grip tighten on Blaine's neck.

They both pulled back after a few moments, listening to the shouts of "happy new year," and the applause that broke out.

"Happy new year, Kurt." Blaine whispered, resting their foreheads together.

"Happy new year, Blaine," Kurt grinned, lacing their fingers together and diving back in for another kiss.
