I've been thinking of doing this for a while. I love softball and Legend of Korra so why not put them together? I do not own Legend of Korra.

The Name of the Game

Prologue

Korra (6-years old)

It was finally my turn up to bat. Last inning, two outs, score 10-10. I see my friend Asami at 2nd and if I can just get her in the Polarbear Dogs might have a chance at winning the tournament. I see my coach, which was also my dad, waiting at the coach's box in anticipation. He smiles and gives me a thumbs up. I tap my helmet then get in my stance.

I squat a bit, then lunge my scrawny arms out on the plate. The tee was ready with the ball placed on top and I stare at it for a long time. I take a small step then twist my back foot as I swing with all my might. Unfortunately I miss. I can hear my teammates yell "Come on, Korra! It's not that hard to hit. Focus!"

Readying myself again I focus a lot harder on the ball then last time. My eyes squinting, I properly move my feet but accidentally lose my balance and falling on my behind. I hear my teammates laughing, as I grunt and pull myself up. I know this time I'm ready!

Once again in my stance, focusing on the ball, and letting all my might out on the ball in front of me. Surprisingly it made contact! Woah, I didn't expect that. "Run!" I hear my dad yell then snap out of my trance then sprint to first. I make it in a breeze, and see that my ball made it all the way to right field. I decide to run to 2nd. I'm sprinting and just barely make it, the other player's glove really close to me. She accidentally lets it roll out so I decide to make it to 3rd.

My dad yells at me to stop but I keep going. I am determined to make a home run! Sprinting and breathing heavily I get ready to slide. My feet get all caught up in each other and I fall on my stomach instead then slide sideways. I feel the catcher's glove touch me and I know I'm out. Everyone else is cheering for Asami in the dugout and I'm here still laying in the dirt. My dad comes over to pick me up and I let him.

"Ow, Korra! Are you okay, sweetie?" I look up at him in confusion before looking at my newly scraped shoulder. As I realize this I then start to feel the pain and start to cringe. "Let's head with the others, okay?" We walk to the dugout where everyone is giving Asami half fives. Asami sees me then gives me a half five. "Korra that was awesome! We won! Oh, are you okay?" I stare at her for a while before shrugging. "I fell." She was going to say something before a girl comes over and tells me, "Nice way of getting out, Korra! If Asami hadn't made that run, we would have lost."

"Shut up!" The girl looks shocked at my language before running to her mommy. Crybaby. My dad packs up my stuff then heads to the car, leaving me and Asami alone.

"I thought that was pretty cool! You have guts, Korra. Good job!" Asami compliments. "Those girls are just jealous they can't hit that awesome."
"Haha, yeah. Thanks Asami." I say back.

"Hey! Me and my dad were going to get slushies at the snack bar. Wanna come!" Asami asks already knowing the answer.

"Yeah!"
