A/N This is just a short supposedly funny one shot. Will try to do my other stories at some point as well.
It was cursed the man fumed punching the consol with his fist. It was the only answer. How many things had gone drastically wrong in shuttle pod one?
He'd nearly died from hypothermia floating around with no engine.
He'd been kidnapped in it and accused of 'smuggling'.
He'd been shot down in it by an alien that he later befriended, and then nearly died from hyperthermia.
So all in all, shuttle pod one was doomed. So why in god's name did he decide to agree to go on this mission? He should have know, should have guessed. Hell he even missed that glint in T'pol's eyes. See, he should have know that a 'simple' mission would be anything but in this shuttle pod. Calling it 'simple' was ironic enough. As he sat there on the floor, screwdriver in hand he cursed his Cap'n for getting him into this. He cursed Malcolm for not wanting to come. He cursed Travis for saying that there was nothing in this area.
Most of all he cursed T'pol. Wasn't it her job to make statistics? To tell them the chance of success? Even at the risk of annoying every human in vicinity. Surely it was logical to predict that giving this shuttles previous record and his own record. That something detrimental was going to happen .
See, with a bag of nerves he'd set off, his heart beating wildly, off he'd trotted. Then when nothing absolutely terrible had happened he'd relaxed, put his feet up and had a little sleep while the auto-pilot was on. That was his first mistake, he'd woken by a large collision with something (that he later found to be an asteroid) that chance upon chance, had taken out communications. Then he had decided to give it up as a bad job and turn around for home. Then of course popped in mistake number two. Something sparkly was in the distance, not a star, not a rock. So his inquisitive self decided to make a small detour to the shiny 'thing'. Then on his small diversion his navigation had gave out.
And he had no idea where he was or what way to go. He couldn't read the stars. He could from Earth, but here everything was different they were all in the wrong place. They all looked the same!
Now he'd always been told that when lost you should stay were you are. But he hadn't liked that idea. Drifting along in space with no idea where he was, looking like a sitting duck.
He just had to hope beyond hope that enterprise would notice he was drifting, or that he was going in the wrong direction.
It was nice a warm in the pod, and he knew without a doubt that Enterprise would find him before he ran out of air or rations, they would eventually come and find him.
So all he had to do with his time was to sit and curse the universe for torturing him, for the stick he would get when he got back.
The Cap'n would never let him go on another away mission again. Though at this point, he wasn't sure it wasn't a bad idea, he could stay with his lady, his beautiful lady. Keep her safe and keep safe himself.
Yeah, Trip definitely wasn't going on another away mission
A/N This didn't go quite as I wanted to but still. It was supposed to just be about how cursed shuttle pod one is, oh well reviews? J.
