She looks across at him. She loves everything about him. Just a glance feels like an adventure; a mystery.

His eyes are like a brewing storm with rain coming down, clouds rolling in, gentle rumbles of thunder juxtaposed with striking lightning. They also resemble the soothing blue and piercing turquoise of the sea. It's like a glimpse of hope and a flow of reassurance, calm and steady. A vacation at the beach. Chaos and comfort wrapped together in his murky blue-grey eyes.

And his hair. Oh that hair. It may sound immature and superficial, but she can't resist the golden, unruly tangles that fall to his neck. And his heart.

He loves her. He loved her long before they began a relationship. He wants to protect her, save her, be her hero even when she doesn't need saving. He worries too. He needs her safe and sound in his warm embrace; bodies connected, fingers intertwined, hearts pumping desire out to every single vain.

She can't explain the phenomenon of love with this man. She has been in love before. Maybe only once, but the moment she knew they were in love…well…it was a feeling she wanted to grasp onto and hold close all of eternity.

But her past made it hard, resulting in a short lived relationship; cut short by mistakes and weaved together with lies. But the man she connects with now doesn't care about her past wrongdoings.

It may be due to the fact that he's not so different from her. At least in his actions. He's made mistakes. So many mistakes. He's lied like it was his profession. And maybe it was. But that's all he's every known.

Sometimes he thinks his life is a mistake, a lie, not meant to be. That's something that clings onto him.

But he almost felt worth it when romance knocked at his door. When he experienced love for himself. Small glimpses presented themselves here and there. But until he met her, that feeling never ever stayed. Even when they fight his senses crave her. Perhaps even especially when they fight.

And he has never been in love like this.

They bring out the best in each other. They aren't bad people. But they aren't particularly good people either. Until now. She's got nowhere to run, and nothing to run from. She finally feels the beginnings of safety. In his arms. Finally ready to stop charging ahead and escaping from problems, and ready to absorb a new life. She can show love, and better yet she's capable of receiving it.

She's a hero here. She's a badass and she's proud of that. But she is able to release vulnerability and emotion as well.

And she never goes down without a fight.

And god, does he admire that about her. He fell in love with her body, heart, and soul. From the inside out she's the girl for him. She is a loving heart and a brave soul, all intertwined into her milk chocolate waves of hair rolling down her back. He can't help but adore the way she ties it back when she means business.

And the way her cheeks are slightly dusted in freckles.

He surrenders to her sinewy arms and legs; strong, yet can so easily become soft and comforting.

The love they share is fiery and passionate. As their eyes meet, he extends his arm and she gladly takes his hand. Their lips come closer together as her elbows reach up to cradle his neck. He pulls her in at the waist and finally their lips meet with a magnetic pulse. A small kiss that urges to be deepened. It's as if light is the only thing surrounding them and they both feel slightly dizzy. Lost in the moment, her sparkling green eyes are forced shut. So much connection comes with kiss. As they reluctantly break apart, she immediately reconnects by resting her head on his neck. He feels so lucky to be with this girl, in this embrace, right here and now.

Words spiral up to his ear in a warm, tender voice. She whispers, "Come with me." With that they run off, almost with the spirit of children, to break away into the seclusion of the forest.
