FE8 drabble:
"Pi R Square"
by Avi
"You baked a pie?"
"Does that seem so strange?" asked Lute.
"No, I suppose it shouldn't," admitted Artur. "It's just that I've never seen a square pie before."
"I baked it in a square pan as a reminder of the classic equation: the area of a circle equals pi times the radius of the circle squared, you see."
Artur thought about this for a moment. "But since the equation is about the area of a circle, wouldn't a round pie still make more sense?" he asked.
"But the pie should still taste the same, regardless if it's round or square," reasoned Lute. "Now, are you going to eat my pie, or not?"
Artur sliced a square piece from the pie, took a bite, and told Lute that it was delicious. (But what Lute didn't tell Artur was that she had baked about a half dozen pies before she made one that was actually edible, and had run out of round pans in the process.)

I seem to be on an Lute/Artur writing kick lately... (Or maybe just a nerdy character kick. ;) At any rate... Mmmm, pie.
