Your head is reeling, heart pounding, feeling so joyous you could just shout your delight to the world. Will grins up at you with his lopsided smile that makes you just want to kiss him over and over and never stop. You can't think straight for you're just swimming in your euphoria. He's proposed to me. Finally, after twenty years of a happy relationship, we're going to get married. You return his smile with a grin so wide it hurts.
"Took you long enough, you nerd," you say affectionately as you grab his hand to pull him up into a heartwarming and gushy hug.
"Seb, they literally announced that gay marriage is legal 45 seconds ago on the news. How was I supposed to be any quicker?" Will giggles from his jubilation and leans in to steal a peck from your lips.
You smirk against the slightly chapped lips you know so well and suddenly realise something. "Will. You told them when to play this clip at the news station, didn't you?"
"Hey, I thought it would be cute. Plus, I have to take the advantages of having a brother in the news business," he exclaims, the glee in his voice is that of a five-year-old learning they're going to Disneyland.
You shake your head; Will always liked to go big or go home which is a strong source of teasing from you. You lean back into him to innocently lock lips with him once more before deciding that gay marriage legal makes the world so much better than it was before because you get to marry the man you love more than the forever growing universe can ever discover.
