"Merry Christmas, ya filthy animal," Dean smiled down at the fat, red-suited creature lying at his feet.
"Dean." Sam tripped through the door. "What the-" he pulled back, eyes going wide.
Shadows from the fireplace flitted across the room. The pine branches decorating the inside of the cabin were hung with all kinds of delicasies: cakes and candy, hazel nuts and sugar plums, cold stiffened hands, bloody arms, half-eaten legs, gnawed on fingers, even a few eyeless heads. All human. All coated in a bloody mess.
"Dude?" Sam wrinkled his face.
"Sammy. 'Tis the season to be - "
"Dean, if you say merry and bright..."
"Dead." Dean booted the body.
"You hacked off Santa's head?"
"Giant evil elf," Dean corrected, looking at his watch. "Called you over two hours ago for a helping hand, man. Took you so long?"
"Snow -" Sam's words were cutoff as a raging wind hurled through a broken window, promptly putting out the fire.
Burning-cold needles cut into Dean's face and he crumpled to his knees.
The last thing he saw before darkness closed in around him was Sam being dragged off like a broken toy soilder out of the cabin.
