Sasuke adored his older brother, so it was only natural that he wanted to be closer to him, and that sometimes involved direct contact. His brother didn't seem to mind, until one day he subtly started shying away. At first Sasuke thought Itachi didn't like him anymore, so he found ways to come in contact with him even more - like bumping into him in the hallways or hurting his ankle to ride on Itachi's back - to find out if Itachi really did hate him.
When one day, Itachi suddenly grabbed him and kissed him hard on the mouth, Sasuke understood that Itachi did not hate contact with him at all.
