Circus Folk

Many years ago, there was a boy. This boy was quite happy. The reason for his happiness was simple: He finally got a toy that he had been saving up for for months. Many months of mowing lawns, selling lemonade, and other odd jobs, some of which weren't very fun at all. But he finally got that toy rocket ship that he saw in the window of the toy shop.

Adding to his joy was the fact that his mother was taking him and his brother to the circus. It wasn't the circus itself that was making him happy, but the fact that he gets to do something with his mom. She was a very busy woman, but despite that, she always tried to make time for her two boys.

The boy knew his mother did really cool things. She was the first to do something underwater, but he couldn't remember what it was. But that didn't matter to him. What mattered was his family was together, and he was having fun.

They arrived at the circus, and the boy was awed. He had never seen such a massive tent before. Not only that, but there were elephants, and trapeze artists, and other amazing things. He and his family sat down, right on the edge of the seats, next to the show entrance. Suddenly, the lights went dark. He could hear some noise coming from outside the tent. He turned around, to see the flaps opening, revealing... clowns.

The were making a large ruckus, carrying on, while spraying seltzer at each other, which the boy couldn't help but laugh at. They started making their way towards the center ring. And as they passed the boy, something unexpected happened. One of the clowns stumbled, and ran into the boy. His toy rocket, which he had been holding, fell out of his hands. His eyes widened in horror, as it hit the ground, and bounced once. Then, the unthinkable: another clown stepped on it, smashing it to pieces.

The boy was horrified. He looked up at the clown, expecting an apology. But it wasn't to be. Instead the clown just looked at him, smiling and honking his horn. As if nothing was wrong. Mocking him. The boy wasn't able to move for a few seconds. Then he clenched his fists in rage. He glared at the clown as he walked off. He wasn't able to enjoy the rest of the show. AT ALL. But he did make a promise.

'I will never trust circus folk ever again,' thought young James Timothy Possible.

Author's Notes: Well, that was weird. The idea popped into my head after watching Go Team Go again, when Mr. Possible talked about his feelings on "circus folk." That got me thinking as to why he didn't like them, and then this idea popped into my head. Not exactly one of the fics I intended to write, but it happened anyway. I decided to see if I could pull it off, and try something new (for me). I decided to not name the main character until the end, to see if the reader would be able to guess who I'm talking (babbling?) about. Please review! Also, I'll try to get to work on the fics I actually promised earlier.
