Being Invinsible

Chapter 1

Being Invincible isn't always the best way to grow up through childhood and most importantly teenage years. For example going to Biology class and having to prick your finger for a blood sample or falling out of a tree and walking away without a scratch. It wasn't easy, let's just say that.

My father is a vampire and my mother is a human. It's the classic forbidden love story. Anyway, I was born a few years after they were married. My mum, Kim Harper, told me it was illegal (in the vampire law) to reveal to a human about the vampire society, but my love bound father spilled. We are all happy living in Mansfield next to the Alpine National Park in Victoria, Australia.

My father has been around for about 200 years and still counting, but you wouldn't know, he still looks very young. Dad, Albert Harper, says being a vampire is unlike anything humanely in this world. He would occasionally tell me stories about 'the olden days' but as you would have gathered they would be the very, very olden days! He also goes 'hunting' for blood from animals in the Alpine National Park to survive in the human world.

And now about me. I'm half human, half vampire. I'm not like you see in movies, chalk white skin, huge teeth that hang to your chin covered in blood, or attacking humans for food. Either is my dad.

I'm sad to say I am more like my mother in DNA. I'm unfortunately more human than vampire though it would be nice to have that different experience every once in a while. I eat human food not blood but having my dad's anatomy in me I'm invincible, well I can heal myself and not have to breath as often.
