Weaving through the trees, ears perked for the calls of my comrades. I don't even know where I'm at; if I'm anywhere near the well. Pounding in my ears, the world around me dark and surprisingly focused. Speeding up, my feet almost trip me as I half sob. 'Have I been barefoot this whole time?' I wonder. Smacking the hair from my eyes, a horrible crash from the west rips a scream from my lungs. Nearly eating a mouthful of soil and leaves, I throw myself into the brush. Biting down on my hand to stifle any noises made, tasting coppery blood in the process.

Risking the distraction, I look towards the source of new blood wincing in pain. A large gash about my arm seems to be where it's coming from. Seeing the blood flow so freely from the gash shocks me into action. Grabbing at the tattered remains of my skirt, I tightly wrap the wound. Looking around, I notice the fallen branch beside me that must have made it.

Sitting up slightly, head tilted to the side listening for whatever made that sound. Hearing nothing I rise slowly and continue to run east.

Breaking through some trees, I come across a brook filled with fish. Hesitant at first, I slowly creep towards the closest edge. Staring at my reflection I notice the newly dead look in my eyes. Ignoring it, I start to quickly wash the blood from my arms and legs. Getting as much blood off as I can, I start looking for any signs of there being a village nearby. Sensing no humans around, I continue north after the flow of water.

Suddenly, a purple mist surrounds me from the trees. I run through the water, trying to reach the other side and away from the mist. A manic laughter from within the mist stalls me slightly. Regrouping, I run faster, quite motivated to get away from him.

With the sun setting ahead of me, I dash towards a cave for shelter. Quickly realizing the trap, I press myself against the farthest wall I can reach. Couching, I instinctively attempt to become as small as possible, hoping he won't spot me.

All this to no avail; he walks in with his red eyes alight with excitement upon seeing me.
