Summary: James Potter takes a short look back on his relationship with Lily Evans and says goodbye to those he loves.
Maybe One Day...
She wasn't like other girls.
She was quiet for one thing, something many girls should learn to be. She liked to read, liked to learn, liked to dance, and she liked me.
My name is James Potter, and I have been in love with Lily Evans since my fifth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
I didn't fall in love with Lily because of her looks. Don't get me wrong Lily is not ugly; she is anything but ugly. She just isn't gorgeous. Lily catches the eye. She is a canvas filled with dark, rich colors- flames and calm relaxing oceans. Truly, she is a masterpiece in every way.
No, I mostly fell in love with her because of her continued determination not to notice me. Lily Evans was smart, sweet, and even nice to people like Snivellus, I mean, Severus Snape. I tried every ploy to get her attention, and it didn't work. She continued to ignore me...until seventh year came around. I was made head-boy and she head-girl. She couldn't avoid me any longer.
Six months into the year, I finally noticed her blush when I looked at her.
Around seven months, I noticed her sudden shyness, which was out of character for the girl I knew and loved.
During the eighth month, I asked her to Hogsmeade, and she accepted with a blush and a nod.
At the end of the year, we were going steady.
Three months later, I asked her to marry me, and she accepted with a kiss.
It has been two years now. We are married and have a beautiful baby boy. We named him Harry, and he is the joy of my young life.
One year after his birth, I sit here relating my history, kissing my young wife and son goodbye, and pounding on death's doors.
I will now take my leave, dying a proud, loving father and husband. Maybe one day my history will be told. Maybe one day...I'll see my family again.
James Potter
I am not trying to imitate et cetera Ms. Rowling and would like to tell those who try to go to therapy. There is one and only one J.K. Rowling. Period. Thank you for reading my story please tell me what you think.
