"She's gone." He whispered.

At that moment he felt empty. His chest was like a black hole, a void of nothing.

He couldn't remember the last time he ever felt this way except when his dog Lucky passed away.

But this. . .Nothingness was stronger. It was taking over his entire body and there was nothing he could do to stop it.

He took in a shaky breath and as he was letting it out, it all dawned on him.

Memories flooded through his mind faster than the tears, faster than the grief.

Tears were in her eyes as she stood by Ashley's empty locker. She closed the door as softly as she could and leaned her head against it. He came up behind her and turned her around and they wrapped their arms around each other. He was surprised by his boldness to even touch her, but he knew she needed him right now.

Her beautiful green eyes were locked on his, her smile sweeter than honey as they lay on her bed in the captain's courters. She caressed his cheek and leaned in to place a gentle kiss on his forehead. He inhaled her sweet scent.

Her eyes were closed her breathing heavy and coming quickly. He was on top, rocking tenderly into her body. Her hands rested on his shoulders and moved to his neck and up to his cheeks so their eyes were locked. He lowered his face into the crook of her neck and rocked faster. She moaned his name and he rocked even faster, he felt her tighten around him and that was when he knew to release himself. They cried out in a passion and love until their climax was over.

He held her in his arms safely and protectively.

He loved her.

His sobs were the only noise that was heard in the small bedroom.

His chest was tight and the love he felt was like poison in his veins, making him weak and broken.

"She's gone..." He cried softly.

Tears rolled over his nose and onto the floor. He couldn't remember when he fell. He didn't really remember standing either. All he could think about was how much his heart hurt and when this aching pain would go away.

It will never go away

He thought bitterly.
