I know I'm a horrible person for not updating Clouded Memories but this idea came into my head after reading a horribly sad poem, and I couldn't ignore it.

"Come on, he's right over here!" Ben Finn was running faster than he had in his entire life. The King was there, laid down on the cobblestones in front of Sir Walter's body. Ben Kalin, Sabine, Logan, and Page rushed to his side as he began to mumble. "Too much Darkness… where'd the light go?"

"It's alright Your Highness, your safe now." Page whispered to him, wiping his forehead with the edge of her shirt. "You killed the Crawler, the Darkness is gone."

The King opened one bleary eye and studied her, as if he could not quite make out who she was. "I killed it?" The woman nodded, bringing a smile to his face. "Tell the people I'm sorry… it was too much."

"No Your Highness, you can tell them yourself." Ben put in. "Your going to get over this, then your going to address the people."

The King shook his head "I'm not getting over it Ben. The Darkness… too much… not enough light. There never was. " He gave a horrible, rasping cough. "The blind woman was wrong… I wasn't strong enough. No one was."

"You killed the Crawler! It's over!" Kalin protested, gripping her ruler's shoulder.

The ruler of Albion shook his head. "I tried… I really did. The Crawler's dead, yes, but so many people are too. I wanted to protect them, I tried, but I couldn't. I failed"

Sabine shook his head. "Now listen here! I've known you since you started this little journey, and you most certainly did not fail."

Logan kneeled down and placed a handkerchief over the sweating man's brow. "Listen, little brother, you are an excellent ruler. Better than I ever was. You led the people into a revolt against, and won. Then you were altruistic enough to spare my life, despite the horrible things I had done. I want you to know how proud I am of you. I want you to know how proud Father would be of you. You've proved that he was not the only hero capable of coming from the most unusual places.

The King of Albion smiled. He looked past his assembled friends, and a serene look passed onto his face. "The light…" he gave a slight mumble.. "The darkness is gone… I can see the light again."

And so it came to be, with the most powerful people in Albion standing around helplessly as their King closed his eyes for the last time, leaving a world that had done it's best to be rid of him, and finally succeeded.
