Her hair was everywhere, spread across the pillow, curled gracefully around her shoulders, and cascading down her stomach. I watched her intently from the corner, debating.

My throat screamed with thirst. If you're thirsty, then drink, my instincts taunted me.

And my long stopped heart seemed to beat frantically as I fought the urge to kiss her, to hold on and never let go.

She's human. You're not. It'll never work, my mind told me.

"But I- I think I love her," I whisper. Those words a muttered, they went against my very existence. But it was too late to take them back. Bella rolled over, murmuring.

"Edward..." I froze, afraid she had heard me arguing with myself.

Way to go. Now you've done it. What an idiot I was. I held the breath I didn't even need to take.

And then she rolled over again, a soft snore at the back of her throat.

I sighed in relief, and painfully made my way to the window. With a last look full of longing I jumped, and landed with a soft thud.

"Goodnight Bella. Sleep well."
