Yuuko sat on her porch, feet brushing the sweet grass illuminated by moonlight.

It's been so long, she thought, gazing at the moon. How long has it been?

How long has it been since I saw you last?

A year?

A decade?

A century?

Time just seems to sneak and slip past me …

Until I feel lost in this world,

buried under memories

and promises

made once upon a time.

So many lives

tied together,

pulled by destiny

and hitsuzen

into a giant tangle of fate

Yet my own string will not snap.

Yuuko absentmindedly reached out a hand to stroke Mokona, who had appeared beside her.

"It's almost time."

The sun beat down on Yuuko as she called gleefully for another bottle of sake.

The last time I saw you, you were still wearing that cocky smile of yours when you bade me goodbye. I remember yelling and telling you, 'You had better come back!'

Of course, you never did.

It seems cruel that your thread was cut before my own.

But then, I'm not sure what I should have expected.

Sometimes some things are just meant to be.

But I was not meant to live, Clow Reed.

You should have known that better than anyone.

I've been trapped, separate from world

of the truly alive

left to grant the wishes of others.

Yuuko smiled as Watanuki stumbled to a halt beside her, grumbling ferociously about her drinking habits.

There's a boy, Clow. I've met a boy.

I've never met anyone so lively.

But he's not supposed to exist.

He's not supposed to be walking this world.

Just like me.

It's coming soon though; I can feel it.

The end is coming.

I've placed my faith in a group of children.

Such unfortunate children

to fall so suddenly

into hitsuzen's path.

Perhaps I'm just a little selfish

but I'm looking forward to leaving

this life behind at last

I'll miss the children.

But I'll be able to see you again, Clow.

I'll finally be able to grant my own wish.
