Unending.
He stared out the window in his apartment, face pressed against the glass, slowly watching as the rain trickled down the window. It was the same as it had been, those two years ago. All of his friends had left for camp, but not him. There was no explaining the scars that covered his body, he had gone to the grocery store on an errand, and a man in line behind him asked if he had been mauled by a bear. He casually responded that he had "tripped down the apartment stairs" the man had given him a disbelieving look, but didn't question him further. There was nothing but for him to stare at the window, he slowly closed his eyes, and fell asleep.
"Move it boy," a voice said and he was shoved from behind, "The cutters will be here any second, we've got to get to the currents!" Just as Ripred finished saying it, a swarm of cutters came out of the tunnel into the small cavern they were in. He drew his sword-a standard three foot long sword-and charged them, Ripred was right along side him. He quickly did a heavy thrust into the first cutter, then slashing through it and kept the momentum of his sword going to injure two more.
The cutters Ripred had attacked were all in pieces, oozing red liquid. He dashed towards two more that entered the tunnel, slashing at them, he hit and severed three of its legs, his sword continued and slammed into the wall; shattering half the blade and stunning his hands. He stood there, dazed from the impact.
The second cutter quickly charged towards him and leaped at him, only to be slashed in mid-air by Ripred.
"Snap out of it, Gregor." Ripred growled, grabbing him and half-carrying half-dragging him behind him into the tunnel that led to the currents. Cutters spilled out of the linear tunnels leading into the cavern behind them, all of them wanting to kill him and Ripred.
Ripred hopped into the entrance to the currents, while carrying Gregor and they were both swept away. He watched Ripred's fur billow from the air flow of the currents, Ripred turned and gave him a curious look. "Are you alright, boy?" he said incredulously.
Gregor nodded, then pointed ahead of them at a bend in the tunnel, air blasting out of side tunnels constantly, one gust caught Gregor and set him spinning into the cave wall. He impacted, his head banged against the wall, his vision slowly faded and he slipped into unconsciousness.
A/N: Well, very short. I abandoned the other story I intended to write,(The plot and such just had way too many holes...) and instead started on this. It's just the start of it, I plan to go a lot longer..That depends on how motivated to write I am.
