Zenaida Ryu Brookstone was born as the second child of Lou and Elena Brookstone, but her mother had passed during childbirth. She lived a carefree life, until at the age of five, she met a boy named Lloyd Montgomery Garmadon. After that, things changed forever.

"Daddy," Zenaida called to her father.

Her brother, Cole, was training to become a ninja, but everyone in their family thought he was at the Marty Oppenheimer's School of Performing Arts.

"Can I go to the park?!"

"Yeah, sure."

Zenaida was really independent. She left the house, heading to a park nearby. Then, she came across a young boy, with a light blonde bowl haircut.

"Hi!" she squealed.

The boy turned around.

"I'm Zenaida. What's your name?"

"I'm Lloyd. Uh, do you mind if I call you Zena?"

"Not really. I like it though."

The two of them talked and played with each other for the whole afternoon. Then it was time for her to leave.

"I have to go. Catcha later! Bye!"

"Bye!"

Many days passed, and Zenaida and Lloyd saw each other very frequently. They became really close friends.

But then everything changed.

Zenaida saw Lloyd sitting against a tree by her house, softly crying.

"What's wrong?"

"I have to go to Darkley's Boarding School. I don't think I'll ever see you again."

"Well, I hope we see each other someday. Goodbye."

"Goodbye... I'm really gonna miss you."

"Me too."

The two of them embraced for the final time. Then Lloyd needed to leave.

He sighed, waving from the window of his mother's car, tears falling freely. He really missed her.

Zenaida sat in her room, quietly sobbing. She was normally strong-minded, but this was hard for her to bear. She missed Lloyd so much.

They were the best of friends, but destiny had to part them.

Her father entered the room. "My daughter, are you okay there?"

"No." She whispered. "I miss Lloyd..."

"Oh, Zenaida...come here...come here..."

The two of them sat for awhile. After a couple hours, she calmed down.

After that, nothing was the same. Zenaida went to the Marty Oppenheimer's School of Performing Arts, and Lloyd stayed at Darkleys, but they both still hoped that they would see each other once again.
