Merging the two nations
That is what we seek to accomplish
But this is proving to be more difficult
Than we had ever imagined
Both sides have won,
But both sides have also lost
Both sides have suffered greatly
This is why we seek to end the bloodshed
We have been in combat for so long
That we've forgotten why we even started fighting in the first place
But we continue our war
So as to avenge our fallen loved ones and comrades
And yet we know that the fighting must cease
That peace and order must replace chaos and slaughtering
But what are we willing to sacrifice?
What must we loose to do this?
So as we seek our answers,
The death toll mounts higher
And the river of blood that flows from the battle fields
Continues to grow uncontrollably larger
If we wait to long, however,
I fear that they two sides will not merge,
And something inside tells me its already too late
That the irreparable damage is already done
But we continue to pray
To hope against hope
That all is not lost
That we can mend the wounds we have inflicted on one another
Time grows short
People become suspicious
The think it will not work
But we will prove them wrong
One way or another
We will prove them wrong…
