Lie to me. Convince me that I've been sick forever.
And all of this will make sense when I get better.
But I know the difference. Between myself and my reflection.
I just can't help but to wonder, which of us do you love?

"So, NiKlaus. What have I missed?" Elijah drawled, looking irked. Klaus swallowed hard, murmuring "Brother." Before he could step forward, Elijah blurred away. Elijah made his way to Elena's house and watched her through the window as she wandered into her room, wearing only a tank top and short-shorts. She was a desirable creature. He watched Elena with lustful eyes. Elijah waited until she'd crawled into bed and turned out her light before climbing into the room. His clothes whispering against the windowsill as he dropped to the floor with the agility of a cat. Bending his knees to absorb the impact. Elena sighed softly in her sleep as he made his way to the bed silently. Elijah sat on the edge of the bed, stroking her auburn hair. He reached out with his mind, testing the boundaries of hers. Sensing that there wasn't a block he'd have to break through, he entered her mind. Elena rolled onto her side, back facing him. Elijah planted the seeds of nightmares into her mind then watched as they grew rapidly. Elena fisted the blankets, whimpering in fear then bolted upright, crying softly. Elijah wrapped his arm around her waist, whispering "Shh... shh... It's okay." His other hand found its way to her dark locks, weaving through them. Elena relaxed, then tensed. Before she could cry out Elijah compelled her back to sleep. Once I'm through with her, NiKlaus will have no use for her. He thought maliciously.
It was a cruel game to play. But Klaus had left him no choice. Elijah hadn't been so cold that he couldn't feel. He could. He felt only slightly guilty. Whatever guilt this brutal game could amass, his desire to beat Klaus at his own game outweighed. Klaus would be horrified at the thought that his brother could do such a thing. Drive the Petrova doppelgänger into insanity. But this was only the beginning. Elijah had bigger plans for her. Elena twitched in her sleep, snapping Elijah from his daze. All previous thoughts abandoned him as he darted to the window, vanishing out it. Elena's mine. He thought menacingly. Hear that, Brother? She is mine. Once I have finished with her, you'll have no use for her. Nor will you want her. Somewhere across town, Klaus felt the spite in his brother's aura. He shivered slightly, lips tipping up in a smirk as he shot back; You want to play games, Brother? Then we shall. Don't be too sure of yourself. The doppelgänger is mine. Elijah's mouth quirked in something that's not quite a smile. You keep telling yourself that, NiKlaus. Elijah glanced back towards the window one last time, hearing Elena's heartbeat speed up. She gasped. He knew the dream shocked her into awareness. I'm so sorry, Elena… He thought sorrowfully as he disappeared into the darkness.
