Tears streamed down her face. But, not like a river, not quite- it pierced onto her skin, made her vulnerable. She was miserable. Plain and simple, and through the assaulting drops that blurred her vision, all Quinn could see was the necklace; the necklace that Noah had given to her after finding out about her pregnancy. God she was so mad at him, how could he have done this to her? Hurt her this way, ruin her life? "Trust me", he said. Two simple words, words that he said loosely that took away everything she had.
I was so stupid, I believed him. I trusted him. If there was one thing I learned from being the captain of the Cheerios, it was that trust is non-existent: It is a word people use to get what they wanted.
But he was different; Quinn knew that he was different, well at least she thought.
I mean it's not like he could have controlled it or anything. It's not his fault. It just happened.
The sight of the necklace began to create a black pit in her stomach. She needed to find out for sure- if he loved her or not, like really love her. Quinn picked up her phone and dialed his number.
1-2-3-4 rings. He wasn't picking up.
She was beginning to worry, but then again it was 2 am.
Then, all of a sudden, a voice so small whispered hello. Quinn had almost missed it; she had almost hung up, almost given up on him. Noah's raspy voice felt old and knowing. It gave her comfort, a familiarity that soothed her and told her that everything was going to be okay- in every language, every song.
And right then, as she heard the soft breathing through the phone, Quinn couldn't hold it in any longer. She had tried. She tried to do it on her own, she did. But she was terrified- only 16 and all she saw in her future slowly slipped out of her grasp.
"I'm scared Noah" Quinn desperately manages to mutter.
"I know baby, I know. But don't worry I am here. I will always be here. For you, for the baby." Noah assures her. Despite the sleepiness that poisons his voice and clouds his judgement- Noah was sure of this. He was not going to let anything happen to Quinn and her child, not ever.
