"Here, just take my arm!" she had said to him, half pulling his arm over her shoulder. He had obeyed her as he was wont to do.

For the first time she was so close. Her scent was dizzying.

"Rei-san...is...this really alright?"

She didn't answer for a spell.

"I'm still mad at you, you know?"

He gulped, images of flaming eyes and stinging words appeared before him.

"I thought you would trust me." she said simply and his heart leapt.

"I..." What should he say? What could he say? He wanted nothing more than to take her in his arms and beg for forgiveness, but Rei most likely would not take kindly to that.

"Forgive my mistaken presumption...please." The words were quiet, but he knew she heard them: for the shortest of moments she had tightened her grip on him.
