"This is News Flash reporting live from Octavia Melody's residence. We are sad to announce that the talented cello player was found dead in her room in the early hours of the morning. Police arrived around 3am this morning after Octavia had made a frantic call claiming a stalker had broken into her house. The police have thankfully already caught the culprit behind this tragic story. Evidence led them to none other than Vinyl Scratch, the best friend of Octavia herself.
Reports have shown that the two haven't been seen together in a long time and rumours suggest that Octavia had taken out a restraining order against Vinyl, though whether this is true or not is unclear at the moment. In her last interview Octavia had mentioned that her and Vinyl where having difficulties and implied the DJ Pony had been crossing the line numerous of times, making Octavia feel uncomfortable.
Vinyl was found attempting to escape through Ponyville with Octavia's cello. We are lucky that Big Macintosh from the Apple family had been near the train station at the time and apprehended Vinyl thanks to the police informing Ponyville she had been seen in their area.
After a long and hard interview, Vinyl finally admitted to killing Octavia, but felt true remorse and regret for this. According to Vinyl herself, she accidentally went too far with Octavia and wasn't expecting such an outcome. She claimed that she had gone to talk to Octavia in an attempt to sort out their friendship, however when Octavia didn't want to hear anything about it, Vinyl finally snapped and attempted to rape Octavia to, as she put it, 'claim her'. However; Vinyl had only intended to scare Octavia, to make her see sense, but had cut her air off for a longer time than she realised and spent the vital minutes in which she could have revived Octavia frozen in shock.
After the interview the police decided it was safe to get Vinyl checked out by Dr Hooves. After an assessment Dr Hooves declared Vinyl Scratch officially insane. Vinyl has been taken to the Equestria Mental Asylum where she will be treated for her insanity after which, if she recovers, she will most likely be locked away for a long time, if not for life for the murder of Octavia Melody.
