The Visit -Oneshot-

I don't own N.C.I.S. or any of the characters that you recognize from the show.

Rated T to be safe.

Mike went to get water. That's when it started.

Jenny shot the first man, before he even got through the door. She fired again. The next one went down. She ran to the other side of the diner, and took a round to the leg. She bent down onto one knee, and continued shooting until they were all dead. The last thing she felt was pain and the blood running down her arm, and her last thought was of Leroy Jethro Gibbs. She collapsed on her side, and the world faded to black.

Tony and Ziva entered the diner, guns drawn. Ziva walked around, and saw the bodies. When she looked down, she saw a redhead lying in a pool of blood. "Tony." she said.

Tony walked over, and saw Jenny's lifeless body. He reached his hand out to her neck, and closed his eyes in dismay.

Jenny's cell phone rang. Tony picked it up, and stared at it for a minute before answering.

"Jenny? Jenny!" They heard Gibbs's voice on the other end of the line.

Jenny opened her eyes and saw a young woman with red hair, and realized that she was floating. Everything was still blurry.

"Where am I? Am I dead?" Jenny slurred.

"It's hard to explain. Oh, and the speech thing is common. Just give it a minute."

"Who are you?"

"My name is Shannon. Shannon Gibbs."

"You're Jethro's first wife?"

"You've done your homework. Kelly and I have been waiting a long time to meet you."

"Kelly? Jethro's daughter?"

"Yes."

"You guys are dead. How am I seeing dead people?"

"Listen, Jenny. We don't have a lot of time. I just wanted to say hello, and we're going to see Jethro. You are coming with us."

"How?"

"Just take my hand."

Jenny lifted her hand out and took Shannon's.

She felt herself floating, until everything went white. Then, she recognized that she was in Gibbs's basement. She saw him working on his boat and drinking. There was a young girl with brown hair looking up at her.

"Jethro?" Shannon asked.

He looked up. "Shan? Is that you?"

"It's us, Jethro. Kelly, Jenny, and I."

At the mention of Jenny, Gibbs walked over to them.

"I'll give you two a moment. Come, Kelly, let's get you a snack." Shannon took Kelly's hand and walked up the stairs, leaving Jenny standing alone with Gibbs.

"Jethro." Jenny said, softly.

"How are you here, Jen?"

"I don't know, Jethro. I don't understand any of this."

"Why didn't you kill Svetlana?" He saw Jenny's red hair, covered in blood. He saw her eyes, staring into nothingness. He saw the reflection of her once-perfect face in the red. He remembered the letter he found in her house, after she died.

"She was pregnant, Jethro. I couldn't do it."

"She killed you!"

"I'm not dead, yet, Jethro." Jenny replied, walking up the stairs, leaving a confused Gibbs in the basement.

"I'm sorry, Jenny. You have to go, now. We're out of time." Shannon said.

Jenny had tears in her eyes. "Thank you, Shannon." she said, smiling at the younger woman. She bent down to Kelly's level. "Be well, Kelly." Kelly hugged Jenny. "Bye, Jenny." Kelly said, quietly. That was the last thing Jenny heard, before everything went white.
