A little bit of poetry from my newest obsession of many! This is basically the thoughts Howlhad in the scene after he stops the bomb from hitting the hat shop and Sophie runs up and hugs him. Don't know if anyone else loved that scene as much as I did, but that's where this takes place. R/R! One-shot.
What is this feeling?
There's a pain deep in my chest,
In the shadows where a heart once beat.
It hurts to know that this pain
Should be love.
Warmth.
Your calm and never-flinching embrace.
Sophie.
How canyou love me,
A monster?
A heartless, cold, unfeeling…
Monster.
It's those eyes.
They set my mind at ease.
Knowing you are safe seems to be
All that matters anymore.
For you, Sophie, I would stop the bombshells
Raining from these skies.
For you, I would gladly give my life,
If only to know you were alive,
If only to see you smile,
If only to let you be free.
How odd it is to fall
So helplessly in love
When you've gone and let a demon
Steal your heart away.
