One morning, Mr Johnson decided to go out roller skating with some of his friends to hang out and have some fun. So, he took the bus down to Gary's Roller Rink, where he entered and immediately found someone he could ask about getting roller-skates to wear, so he went to the person in uniform and tapped them on the shoulder.

He was surprised when he found out that the face was familiar. It belonged to Grover, and he happened to be the manager. But he was not about to question things, as he had skates to find. Besides, it was Grover's decision where he worked.

"I would like a pair of roller-skates to wear for an afternoon with my friends." He explained.

"Alright then," replied Grover. "I shall look out some pairs for you to try on."

He brought out some skates to try on. When Mr Johnson tried on the first pair, which was orange, he found his toes being painfully squeezed into his feet.

"They're no use," Grover stated. "You'll be moving slower than a snail to avoid discomfort."

So he got out some blue roller-skates instead. But he could not feel his toes in the toe of the shoe, and he found his feet moved easily in the skates.

"Well, they'll have to go too!" Grover stated. "Why, if you went on in them, you will twist an ankle, or hurt someone else!"

So those two were tidied away, and a third pair was tried on. But Mr Johnson didn't like them either. They fitted him a bit better, but they looked too full of bling and fancy for him to wear.

"I just want something that will fit my feet, but don't look fancy." He said.

"Well, I'm afraid the only pair we have left are very plain." Grover replied.

"I'm sure they'll be fine." Mr Johnson replied dismissively. "Can you bring them to me please?"

"If you're sure, Mr Johnson, then I shall be back in two minutes."

Grover went away, and Mr Johnson waited patiently. He waved at some people he knew, and even managed to find his best friend, who was one of the people he was skating with, and explained about the roller- skate dilemma.

He was just left on his own when Grover returned.

"Here you are Mr Johnson." Grover said.

Mr Johnson was horrified to find that Grover was right; the shoes were very plain. Why, they were only grey and white!

He immediately fainted.

Grover winced. He better get help- and something strong smelling.

He suddenly caught a whiff of the roller skates he was holding.

Hm, could do with a spray. But he knew what else he could use them for...
