Edward Nygma hummed cheerfully and put up the last of the colorful lights. He carefully stepped down from the ladder and walked inside the house, lair, whatever you would call it.
The young man glanced over at his partner in crime, Harvey 'Two-Face' Dent, who was boredly staring into his black and white mug of, now cold, cocoa. The other sighed and shook his head, taking off his hat, scarf and gloves, and hanging them up on the coat-rack along with his jacket.
Sugar and Spice had gone to spend the holidays with their family, leaving the two villains alone for parts of December and January. The red-haired man blushed slightly at the thought. Alone with the man he secretly loved since he'd first saw him on GNN almost a year ago. Edward looked over to the man in question, taking in his half parfect, half burnt face, his blush deepening.
Appearently he had been staring too long, because now there was a pair of mismatched eyes staring back.
"What?" Two-Face snapped at him, obviously annoyed. The Riddler snapped out of his thoughts and quickly turned away, his face now resembling the color of a ripe tomato.
"Oh, s-sorry..." He mumbled, his voice barely audiable.
Harvey noticed their partner's abrupt behavior and tried to hold back a smile, knowing what's going on.
"Edward, is something wrong?" Harvey asked calmly, stepping towards the younger male and placing a hand on his shoulder. As soon as he did so, he felt him tense, and the tips of his ears were bright red.
Both sides of him knew about Edward's feelings towards them, but they thought about it way differently. Harvey accepted it perfectly, and even thought it was kind of cute, but Two-Face acts like he could care less, though there is a TINY part of his side of their brain that agrees with Harvey.
"You know you can tell us anything." Harvey smiled gently, even though he knew Edward couldn't see with his back turned.
"I-I know..." The Riddler half-whispered. He turned around slowly to face the other villain, some of the blush fading, he hoped. He looked at his shoes, then back up to them, thinking of how to put it. "W-Well..."
He breathed in deeply, his eyes suddenly darting around the room,
"'tkillme!" He dribbled out, covering his face suddenly.
Harvey had only caught the 'I love you', but Two-Face only caught the 'Please don't kill me'.
They blinked, and Two-Face took out their coin, gave it a flip and looked at the outcome.
Eddie was confused when he didn't feel a searing pain or the sound of a gunshot. Had he said it too fast for them to understand?
He slowly opened his eyes and looked up at the other man, only to be greeted by half-burnt lips pressed softly to his own perfect pink ones.
They were warm, thin and welcoming, Edward felt like his heart was about to explode, wrapping his arms around the other's neck. Harvey brought him closer, and then the redhead could feel cool hands sneaking up his sweater, brushing against his stomach. He shivered in pleasure, barely able to think, but just like that, it was all gone. Eddie opened his eyes in surprise, looking around and spotting his lover leaning against the door frame. He'd must have gotten lost in the moment...
"Merry Christmas, Ed." Harvey said with a smirk before leaving the room, leaving Edward alone with a red face and his scrambled thoughts.
