Japanese revolution- Hetalia Axis Powers fanfic
Introduction
Kiku also known as the embodiment of Japan was very frustrated. The usually silent and calm nation-tan was having a rough time on the international stage. He had made bad mistakes in the past, mistakes that resulted in a world war and millions of people dying all over the world. He had regretted everything about the war which he started but his selfish leaders wouldn't accept responsibility for the actions of their nation. China and Korea now hated him although they had never really been too fond of Japan in all their thousands of years. Japan was supposed to save the world from a great financial crisis through sheer economic power, the country was even fated to become more powerful then America. However, Japan was struck by a massive economic crisis that lasted for a decade resulting in many people's lives being ruined and Japan's international credibility being tarnished. The recent earthquake had not helped matters for it sparked a humanitarian crisis that killed thousands of people and humiliated Japan. It also created a tsunami which killed thousands more and triggered a nuclear accident which further humiliated Japan. Japan's economy had been shattered dooming the poor nation-tan who was linked spiritually to severe illness not seen since the great Kanto earthquake. Although most countries felt great sympathy for their fellow country and its people, a small minority claimed that the disaster was divine punishment for Japan's military past. Seeing those comments on the media and in the social networks greatly disturbed Kiku for he had thought that people could not be so cruel. Kiku was left feeling betrayed by the other nation-tans that he had come to see as friends, even family. It did not help that organizations in some countries like South Korea who had been colonized by Japan decades ago had even diverted money away from relief for victims of the crisis to be used in selfish political campaigns. Those nations put more value on politics and history then human lives. The government of Japan was generally run by very hawkish individuals much to everybody's chagrin. Japan was most frustrated by the government, the very same government that had marched the nation into a costly deadly war and allowed the civilian population to suffer at the hands of Soviet and American forces was still in place. The seeds of revolution were forming within the nation as the ultra-nationalist leader continuously denied the rape of Nanjing.
