Within my darkened soul
Nothing can grow
Long since frozen over
By ice of guilt and self hate
An unforgivable sin
No rest for the condemned
Hands too stained with blood
To ever be cleansed
Forever unable
To hold my fallen angel
Her pleas for mercy
Reach me still
Calling out to me
Over three decade's time
She was an angel
Fallen from grace
I was the devil
Who clipped her wings
A pure white dove
Tainted by my love
That was my sin
Living is my punishment
No rest for the wicked
Now to eternity
Forever condemned
