Midnight rushed into the wood
Winds hushing and shushing, just as they should
The moon time bird prepare for their flight
Treetop dwellers drop into the night
The Midnight Stalker, looking all 'round
Looking for He, who shouldn't be found
Lavender orgs, glistening so
Catch the sight of shadows high and low
Into the night, our friend goes to
Seeing only with the light of the moon
Tip-toeing, following with barely a sound
Under the wooded treetop crown
Wings span at great wide length
Hope fell at the beast's sure strength
The serpent of fire glides down low
Bringing destruction and loss in its tow
It senses who dares to challenge He
The Wyrm of Flame, great and mighty
Cat yellow eyes narrow and stare
The Wyrm's great maw lets out a bright flare
Sidestepping out of the burning lance
Our hero the serpent a haughty glance
He draws his beams of moonlight trance
Twin swords of the night begin their dance
Spinning and waltzing the swords dance low
Sweeping nothing, the Wyrm's movements flow
Jabbing and thrusting, the silver shines true
But just before contact, away the Wyrm flew
Swirling and seeking, the blades swing high
The serpent feels pain beyond pain so nigh
So close and the black looms very near
The Dragon of Fire lets out an angry jeer
Leather unfolded and spread out wide
The gone it was like the ocean's tide
Into the mountains the serpent went
Leaving only behind a burnt onyx tint
The morning dawns on cerulean skies
Midnight darkness falls and dies
Lilies bloom to drink the sun
The dance of the blades is now long done
The Midnight Stalker yawns and blinks
He climbs in a willow and falls asleep
The Night has slowly, slowly crept away
It's time anew for another day
