Title: "Row to the Christmas song"

Summery: "What's your favorite Christmas song daddy?" Sam/Jack

Samantha "Carter" O'Neill stood in the doorway watching the scene in front of her. The room was dark except for the glow of a lamp by the little twin bed. A little boy, about 4 years old with unruly brown hair and slate blue eyes, was snuggled under the comforter. A little girl, his sister, about a year older than him with lighter brown hair done up in braids and brown eyes, was lying next to him. Their dad, Jack O'Neill, was walking back to the bed after putting a book away on the bookshelf nearby.

"Row, row, row your boat gently down," Jack started singing as the two little children looked at him; not so amused. Jack raised his eyebrows and shrugged his shoulders. He started again.

"There's a hole in the bucket dear," again the children did not look pleased.

"What do you do with a drunken," Jack continued, changing the tune yet again.

The little girl finally found the humor and started to giggle, "Daddy!"

"The ants go marching 2 by 2 hurrah! Hurrah!" Jack started once again with a twinkle in his eye as he had just noticed the other figure in the little boy's room.

"Jack, I believe they want you to sing your favorite Christmas song." Sam said, with a smile of amusement.

"Sam, I did but they don't think 'Row, Row, Row Your Boat' is a Christmas song."

"Daddy, it isn't," the little girl replied.

"Yeah dad, you sing that while fishing, you can't fish in the winter." The little boy added, "well you can fish in the winter, you just can't row your boat, at least not..."

"Ack! Matthew, lets not get technical before bedtime." Jack butted in.

"Well it's still a summer song," Matthew pouted. "Tell him mommy; it's a summer song."

"Jack, stop pulling the kids legs."

"No, it's a Christmas song," Jack said, as he turned to direct the rest of his statement to Sam. "I remember singing it around Christmas time back when the pie tasted really good at the SGC."

"Jack, that was not during Christmas," Sam replied.

"Yes, it was." Jack said, defensively, "it was snowing outside."

"Jack, it snows half the year here. Also, it was right after I had gotten back from Maui with my dad; after Christmas," Sam added. At the mention of Maui, Jack knew that Sam was right.

"I still think about that," Jack said, with a smirk.

"I can tell," Sam said, as she winked at him. The two little kids just sat on the bed, looking confused as Jack turned his attention back to them.

"Ok, so it's not a Christmas song."

"I was right!" The little girl exclaimed.

"I was, too!" Matthew added, not wanting to be upstaged by his older sister.

"So daddy, what is your favorite Christmas song?" the little girl asked.

"Joy to the world," Jack started to sing again in his slightly out-of-key voice. The children giggled and joined in.

"The Goa'uld are dead,

we blew them all to shreds."

Still standing in the doorway, Sam did the only thing she could do as her family belted out the non-traditional/Jack version of 'Joy to the World', she joined in.

Merry Christmas and The End

I ran with Row Row Row your boat...and I honestly do no know the original words to "Joy to the World" but I do know the non-traditional teacher version...:P
