Disclaimer: I own absolutely nothing… I promise.

A/N: Future lit… Lorelai and Luke are married; they have a daughter named Gabrielle who is 5. This is a long ways down the road. Rory is 26, and married to Jess. They live in New York. Rory works at the New York times and Jess still does work at Truncheons. Although he lives in New York, he does online work, and has to go to Philadelphia sometimes, but doesn't live there. He lives with Rory. Now this is a long Author's note… which I hate… so on with the story.

"This is not fair." Rory says into the phone resting between her ear and her shoulder, as she reads a Cosmo magazine.

"I know… I'm sorry." Jess sighs, and rubs his temples as he tries to reason with his stubborn wife.

Rory huffs like a five year old, "When will you be able to come home?"

Jess looks at his calendar on the wall, and then speaks in an aggravated voice, "A few weeks."

Rory nods, "Are you ok? You sound angry…"

Jess shakes his head, "I'm fine… just miss you."

Rory smiles brightly, glad he couldn't see the radiance of her face, "I miss you, too."

Jess smirks, and looks at his watch, "Man it's late."

Rory nods, sadly, "Yea… it is."

Jess sighs, again, "I'll see you soon, I promise… I love you."

Rory leans back into the couch, and puts the magazine down, then takes the phone in her hand and switches ears, "I love you, too."

Jess smiles, "Say hello to Luke and your mother when you go to Stars Hollow this weekend, o and your grandparents." He can't help but let out a small laugh.

Rory laughs slightly, "You just love the fact that you don't have to go to dinner, don't you?"

Jess nods, "Yes! I'm free… I feel liberated."

Rory laughs, "And what should you do with this sudden burst of liberation ."

Jess shook his head, "Did you even use that phrase right?"

Rory holds down her giggles, "O you mean 'burst of liberation'? I have no clue."

Jess nods, "Thought so…"

Rory smiles, "So what are you going to do with that burst of liberation?"

Jess laughs, at the use of those words, again, "Nothing at…" looks up at the clock, "1:02 A.M."

Rory smiles, "Such an old timer."

Jess shakes his head, "Nuh-uh."

Rory nods, "Yuh-huh."

Jess laughs again, "Aren't we supposed to be getting off the phone."

Rory sighs, "I guess… you need your sleep. I love you."

Jess smiles, "I love you, too. Bye." He hangs up the phone, and rolls over into his bed, drifting off to sleep.

Rory hangs up the phone, and sets it down next to her. She then puts her hand on her lump of a stomach and rubs it, "Hey baby. You ready for daddy to come home, too, huh?"

Paris came out from bedroom next to Rory's living room, "You know… talking to your stomach is scary Gilmore, I agreed to stay with you for a little while so you wouldn't be alone, but if you talk to your baby the whole time, I might leave."

Rory laughs, "Fine Paris, no talking to the baby in front of you, got it."

Paris nods, "Good… so was that Prince Charming?"

Rory laughs again, "Was that Jess? Yes. Prince Charming? No."

Paris nods, "Tomato, tomoto…"

Rory shakes her head, and gets up off the couch patting Paris on the knee as she stands, "You're very odd, Paris."

Paris shrugs, "It's my charm… night Mariano."

Rory smiles, and walks into her bedroom, "Night Gellar."
