After five years of waiting, the graduate students of the 104th trainees squad finally received their yearbook. It was indeed a special yearbook. The students had no idea who wrote their yearbook write up since the writer of their respective write ups were determined through draw lots.
JAEGER, Eren
If you set yourself to become a soldier, you should be prepared to die in battle. We learned that from our military training. That the moment we graduated from this academy we will be sacrificing our lives for the sake of humanity. Most of us don't think this way. Some of us joined the military to be popular. To make our parents and home town proud of us. Some do everything to excel in their studies to make it to the top ten so that they could join the Military Police and live inside Wall Sina, safe and far away from danger. Most of us think that way. Well, you can't blame us. We're just being practical. But, there's this one person I know who is the exact opposite of everything I've told you. He joined the military because he wants to fulfill the real reason of the existence of the military.
To protect the people.
To kill titans.
Unlike many of us, he strives hard in the academy to excel not because he wants to join the Military Police but to join the Survey Corps. He really is a suicidal bastard. And that's what makes him unique from all of us. It's like he's not afraid of anything. It's like he's challenging even death itself. I only know a little about him since we're not that close and we always argue because of our conflicting ideals. But as time passed by I learned to admire him. His strength, his courage, and the passion that he gave in everything that he did made me change my beliefs. He is a true soldier. He has a heart that even the most ferocious titan could not yield.
And because of him I have been changed for the good.
PS. If only his temper is not as hot as the sun then maybe, just maybe, we can be friends. And also if only he's not that clingy to his beautiful and perfect adoptive sister then maybe we can be BEST friends.
